Have you heard about the case George hogkins?
He was a twenty two year old with Autism and earlier this month is mother Elizabeth murdereed her son and then commited suicide. Mnay mainstream reports suggest that how difficult it is caring for son with a learning disability. But a parent killing their own child is never justifyable
1. George is the victim
His mother having a nervous break down and stress from caring for a disabled child is never justifyable.
2. George had the same right to live than any other person
Points to ponder
Could extra support prevented George’s death?
We social services informed of his mothers nervous breakdown?
Was all options looked at? Temporary care options, support work in the community, psychological help for the mother?
Over to you, what do you think?
