Ever since Sheila Odem Hollinghead was younger she always been interesting in writing. Sheila was born in Germany to a miltary family and being moved from army base to army base she had her books.
After graduating from college, she began her job a teacher and began writing in spare time.
Then at 22 she was diagnosed with RA or Rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a long-term disease that leads to inflammation of the joints and surrounding tissues. It can also affect other organs.
Throughout the nineteen years she was at Fleeta Junior High School, she taught science, but Shelia’s health problems caused her a lot of problems. Then she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and due to health reasons she retired from teacher but carried on with her writing. Throughout the years, she completed the rough draft of “Thundersnow, In the Shadow of the Cedar” about the story of a teenager with depression who struggles to live with her controling mother on a farm. Then in 2012, her novel was published on the kindle and as a paperback.
Hollinghead said she has also maintained a blog titled “Rise, Write, Shine,” for the past two years.
