Laura Dunks is twenty five year old friend of mine and in 2008, half way through her medical school training to become a doctor. She was struck down with debilating illness and gradually became bedbound as her condition worsened. Then in 2009, she discovered her passion for writing and is in the process of writing a contermporary novel about a teenager with M.E/CFS. The novel, Butterfly with Broken Wings gave an insight of what is like living with this chronic condition. Whilst in bed, she also spent a year running WAMCARE and then the charity closed and she then began campaigning for M.E research and awareness. Her other interests imclude listening to music, horse riding and travelling, She is now continuing a degree in creative writing and spanish with the Open University.
